Solid aluminum air terminal, 1/2" diameter x 24" length, with a safety-tipped (rounded) point. As a strike termination device, it mounts along a roof ridge, edge, or rooftop projection to intercept a direct lightning strike and route it into the main conductor system (LPI 175 §51–55). This size meets the LPI 175 Table 1 minimum diameter for a Class I air terminal (structures up to 75 ft.). At exactly 24", bracing isn’t mandatory under LPI 175 §55 (required only above 24"), though many installers brace tall rods anyway for wind stability.
